A relevant aspect in nations with greater economic drive is freedom (economic and social) and democracy; even in nations with monarchies, representative but not headship of government. A country with a democratic and republican system of government should watch over for those maxims of freedom and not suppress them.
Yesterday in the USA, and Mexico, suppressions were approved to certain rights that provided equality and indirectly with respect to pillars of the free market economy that approved inductions to monopolistic practices; that is, they essentially induce norms that would lead to a trend contrary to the expectation of a free market.
In the case of the United States, the Federal Communications Commission eliminated Net Neutrality, which restricted activities to Internet providers that could block or charge access to the network, which in essence were adequate regulatory standards to inhibit monopolistic practices and obstruction to the free flow of information, when the total information is expected to be accessible.
In Mexico, the Internal Security Law and amendments to the Federal Civil Code restrict human rights, unconstitutionally in theory, but in jurisdictional review could validate them, which endangers the democratic republic.
